MomRise ("we," "our," or "us") is committed to protecting the privacy of our users and their families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share information when you use the MomRise mobile application ("App").

1. Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

• Email address - Used for authentication and account recovery
• Display name (optional) - Used to personalize the app experience

Family Information

To personalize features like milestones and activities, you may provide:

• Child's name - Used for display within the app
• Child's birthdate - Used to provide age-appropriate content
• Milestone progress - Developmental milestones you mark as completed
• Learning path data - Challenges you describe and progress through AI-generated learning paths

Content You Create

• Meal plans and recipes
• Calendar events and tasks
• Activity preferences and favorites
• Photos (if you choose to upload them)

Usage Data

We automatically collect basic usage information including app interactions and device information to improve the app experience. We do not collect advertising identifiers (IDFA) or track you across other apps or websites.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Provide and personalize app features based on your child's age
• Generate AI-powered learning paths tailored to your needs
• Store your meal plans, calendar events, and milestone progress
• Enable content sharing between users
• Improve the app based on usage patterns
• Send important account-related notifications

3. AI-Generated Content

When you create a learning path, we send your child's age range and the challenge description you write to OpenAI's API to generate personalized activities and guidance. We do not send your child's name, photo, or other identifying information to OpenAI.

OpenAI processes this data according to their privacy policy. We use OpenAI's API with data retention settings that minimize how long your prompts are stored by OpenAI.

4. Third-Party Services

MomRise uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase - Authentication, database storage, file storage, and app configuration. Firebase processes data according to Google's privacy policy.
• OpenAI - AI-powered learning path generation (see Section 3 above).

We do not use advertising networks, analytics trackers, or any service that tracks you across apps or websites.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored securely in Google Firebase's cloud infrastructure, which uses industry-standard encryption in transit and at rest. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information or your children's data to anyone.

We share data only in these limited situations:

• Content sharing - When you explicitly share an activity or meal plan with another user, only the content you choose to share is visible to that person.
• Service providers - With Firebase and OpenAI as described above, solely to provide app functionality.
• Legal requirements - If required by law or to protect rights and safety.

7. Children's Privacy

MomRise is designed for parents and caregivers, not for children to use directly. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The child information stored in the app (name, birthdate, milestones) is provided by the parent and is controlled by the parent's account.

If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us and we will promptly delete the account.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your data at any time through the app
• Correct your information through your profile settings
• Delete your account and all associated data by going to Profile > Delete Account, or by emailing us
• Export your data upon request

9. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, we delete all associated personal data, family information, and content within 30 days. Some anonymized, aggregated data may be retained for analytics purposes.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
